Should health care be transformed by doctors and not Washington? Who knows best what is required for health care reform and appropriate care. What do government bureaucrats really know about what is necessary for care? Do insurers really understand? Didn’t they get us into this bloated, over-costly, medical care with billions spent on unnecessary treatment?
Where are the doctors? Why aren’t they addressing the failure of the American medical community to provide appropriate care? Are they too tied to the teat that feeds them?
I don’t think so. In my experience, doctors, in-the-main, are honest and want to do the right thing. It’s just in the current system of corrupting insurance with it’s penurious payment schemes, the doctors have no motivation to change things. It’s time they take matters into their own hands and out of control of the insurers, government functionaries, and congressional tools of the business lobbies.
It’s time for them to begin asking, “How can we take control of medicine?”
